The Jeevan Daan Abhiyan is one of the flagship programs of Lotus India Foundation Trust, dedicated to bridging the gap between blood demand and availability in hospitals and rural health centers. The program’s name, meaning “Gift of Life”, truly represents its mission — to save lives through organized blood donation drives and awareness campaigns across Rajasthan.
Every year, thousands of patients in India suffer due to the shortage of safe and timely blood transfusions, especially in rural areas. Recognizing this critical issue, the Foundation launched the Jeevan Daan Abhiyan to mobilize donors, connect blood banks with communities, and ensure that no life is lost for want of blood.
The initiative operates through three major pillars:
- Blood Donation Camps:
The Foundation partners with hospitals, blood banks, and local health departments to organize blood donation camps across districts and colleges. These camps follow all medical safety standards and are supervised by trained health professionals. Donors are provided with pre- and post-donation guidance, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. - Awareness and Motivation Campaigns:
Along with camps, the team conducts awareness sessions in educational institutions and offices to educate people about the importance of voluntary blood donation. Myths and fears surrounding blood donation are addressed through interactive talks and volunteer stories, helping build a strong culture of giving. - Emergency Blood Support Network:
In many emergency cases, especially in rural blocks, blood is needed immediately. The Foundation maintains a digital database of donors — sorted by blood group, location, and availability — ensuring that emergency calls for blood can be fulfilled within hours.
The Jeevan Daan Abhiyan also collaborates with corporate CSR partners who encourage their employees to donate blood as part of their annual volunteer engagement activities. The Foundation provides complete logistical support — from medical teams to donor certificates — ensuring smooth execution and impactful reporting for CSR audits.
Through this initiative, Lotus India Foundation Trust not only supports hospitals but also builds a sustainable cycle of awareness, donation, and emergency readiness that continues long after each camp ends.
Over the years, the Jeevan Daan Abhiyan has successfully:
- Conducted more than 75 blood donation camps across different blocks of Rajasthan.
- Collected and donated over 10,000 units of blood, benefiting thousands of patients in need.
- Created a network of 4,500+ registered donors available on-call for emergencies.
This initiative directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
The Foundation’s vision is clear — to make voluntary blood donation a social responsibility embraced by every citizen.
With every drop donated, lives are saved, families are healed, and humanity grows stronger.
Impact Goals (2025–2027):
- Organize 100 blood donation camps across Rajasthan
- Build a verified network of 10,000 voluntary donors
- Collaborate with 50+ hospitals and medical colleges
- Achieve a steady supply of safe blood units in rural and semi-urban healthcare facilities
